Last Thursday.
Tanks at airports. Warned of "Sept 11th level attack". Armed Police. Railway stations evacuated and roads cordoned off.
Hand grendade through Gatwick, public is terrified and panicked.

Saturday
Largest protest march seen in British history.

Monday
Congestion Charge and David Beckham being hit with a shoe.

---

What happened to the supposed attack? Why is there nothing about Heathrow in the news now? What happened? I thought we were on the brink of being attacked?
No?
That's odd, it's almost like the run-up to the protest was an absolute exercise in crowd-control and causing a stampede to shut yourself indoors and fear Muslims.

I'm not saying that's the case, I'm just suggesting for the next 3 days you humour me and watch the news to see how many news stories talk about the "crisis at Heathrow" or why we never heard about this planned attack.
Ladies and Gentlemen, you are witnessing a text-book example of media-manipulation.

Bill Hicks said it best:
"There are no #####ing enemies man. Nobody left that's a threat but you gotta stay inside and be scared. Because if you're scared then you're easier to push around and you'll be thankful for jackbooted saviours when they take what little civil rights you have left."

There are more and more people using the tube, it appears people are scared about being attacked, but not as scared as they are about having to pay a fee to drive though.

You should get the Tube Goatboy - ever since November, reading the Metro going to university I've been warned about attacks, ranging from gas attacks which was popular about three months ago, now every day we're being told the chances of a terror attack are imminent, usually splashed over the front page.

I sometimes question the validity of the statements, and many, such as the Heathrow 'attack', I simply label as PR scaremongering, but if its aim is to cause worry on London travel users, it's certainly working with me - it's easy to dismiss but as a regular public transport user, and one that gos daily into Central London at that, it does prey on my mind.

Maybe they realised that the tape with Bin laden in is probably yonks old and were too embarassed to 'remember' to tell everyone.
