For example, while most of their songs are pretty hardcore in terms of the instruments, they all have a very distinct melody and the lead singer actually sings. No screaming, no shouting, no abuse. It's actually decent metal (shock horror!). Not your crappy Slipknot and System of a Down singing, but decent singing.
Also, as with their latest album Epica, their albums are based around medieval themes. Like, an adventure. It's pretty damn good, and definitely worth looking into.
So if you're intrigued, take a look at 'Center of the Universe', 'Forever', 'Karma' and 'Across the Highlands'. They're my favourites, anyway.
