acting goes to....

Lauren for his Rivaldo type dive!

Must say it looked so real he should been given an award!

At least it made everyone laugh close to the end of the game! Gooner's included!

Trying to send a player off - tut tut. Terrible.

Whatever....

But the best thing was in the Newcastle ball, when Robert booted the ball straight into the cheating Cameroon scum right after Bergkamp created the incident that got him the un-neccesary Red Card.
Oh, how I wish that ball had smacked him in the nads then!!

Lauren's a cheat, and he's been getting Arsenal advantages when they don't deserve it all-throughout this season!
He's the one Arsenal player - besides Henry and Wiltord with their goal-scoring against us -- and Vieira and his noncing-around - who I hate the most!

But while we're talking about Arsenal players getting booked or sent-off, I have to admit that van Nistelrooy should've gone. I don't know whether Keown and him had spoken to each-other prior to the match, or whether they just had the past in-mind, but van Nistelrooy really should've got a Yellow Card for each of his reckless - yet fun-to-watch - challenges early in the first-half!

Still, it was nice to see that ageing-gimp Keown finally get attacked, kung-fu-style, just like he deserved!
Shame van Nistelrooy's foot didn't got between his legs their, also.

Bad.late challenges are part of the game, it's true - but you could see right from the start that United had only one thing in mind - to try and kick Arsenal into submission.

Yes, you did beat us in December - but at least we didn't give up trying to get back into it, which United did. At times - particularly 2nd half - Saturday's game was little more than a training exercise for Arsenal, and United were out-played by pure footballing skill alone.

I've been enjoying the press comments, though!

I like the quotes in the press today, though!

"Ryan Giggs and Arsenal will be forever linked together in the public mind in one of those 'Where were you?' footballing moments. But, as from yesterday, fans will be asking each other excitedly: ' Where were you when Giggsy missed that open goal?" rather than: "Where were you when Giggsy scored that astonishing solo effort?"

"Indeed, 'losing the plot' springs to mind when considering Ruud van Nistelrooy's impersonation of a Flying Dutchman - his brutal attack on Martin Keown bizarrely earning him a yellow, rather than red, card - and Sir Alex's sour-grapes attack on Arsenal's so-called bullying tactics."

"Only a few minutes after Giggs' miss, Roy Keane fouled Patrick Vieira - symptomatic of the Irishman's frustration at being upstaged by the French master"

"In an ironic 'pot-calling-the-kettle-black' outburst, Ferguson accused Arsenal of intimidating the referee. 'They bullied him,' bleated Fergie, whose players have hardly been shrinking violets in the past." "But the fact that Arsenal hardly extended themselves with a weakened side and yet still won comfortably speaks volumes about the widening gap between North London and North-West England."

"But the game will still be remembered for years to come. Perhaps only for the Giggs miss. Or maybe also for the defining moment in a shift in power from Manchester to London."

And today, we hear that Fergie kicked a boot at Beckham and cut his head open! Unintentionally, of course - but still it shows what a bad loser he is. No-one likes losing, obviously - but at least others (Wenger included) will admit that the other team gave them a good game and earned the result.

Not Fergie, though - there's always some excuse, whether it's that the opposition bullied the ref, or because they couldn't see each other in their grey jerseys. What is wrong with admitting that you were beaten by a better team, whether they were just better on the day, or are better all round?!

Well if the ref started giving out cards for play acting and trying to get people booked, Arsenal would have been lucky to have 6 players out on the field. Of course most of the team is french so i shouldn't be surprised really.

I agree there were some dirty challenges in the game and RVN dived at times (which im sure comes as a complete surprise!) but the match was comprised of several bad challeneges from both set's of players, what about Keowns wonderfully hop, skip and Jump technique and the blatent foul on Scholes on the edge of the area which didn't even get a look in! - However none of the events in the games compare to Laurens circus act! What if it was the other way round and Ruud had done it to Keown and Kewon got sent off because of it - how would you have reacted?

> Fergie's whining and best team blah

Yeh fergie did whine but Saint Arsene NEVER whines does he? and beaten by the better team eh? - funny you say that beacause when you were at OT last werent you more than convincingly beaten by a depeleted Man Utd team? I

WHAT??? You could quite obviously see keown flailing his arms about when he caught RVN's ankle

We were stuffed when the score was 2:0? That score sounds familiar...

I think he did quite well, considering RvN tried to take his head off prior to that.

RvN's two blatant dives were also highly amusing - one in the penalty area, where he just turned on the spot and laid himself out without any contact... and the the other to the left of the area, when he just decided to have a quick lie down with no-one within three feet of him. Either of those alone could/should have earned him his second yellow for trying to con the ref, let alone the assaults on Keown and Lauren

Funniest thing in the whole game was the score, though.

Funniest thing *since* the game has been Fergie's whining about the 'bullying' and 'intimidation' of the ref. Just for once, man, lose gracefully and admit you were stuffed by a superior team!

Heh - im finding this pretty amusing, what poor excuse's for someone who was quite obviously play acting! when scholes kicked the ball, it struck Lauren who in turn looked at Scholes, delayed reaction and owwww nurse it hurts...
no im sorry if someone kicks you in the 'nads' or something like a football hits you there it hurts instantly! (believe me!) but Lauren had enough time to look at the ref and then at Scholes, strange - must be all that french wine Arsene's been giving them...

Yup. You can't hold your nads when you get whacked - they hurt too much!

You're clutching at straws. As the Football Association probably won't be saying at the Quarter Final draw:

SHA NA NA NA NA

HEY HEY

GOODBYE

Which is why he was holding his leg when he finally decided he was injured? Interesting.
