LOL! How odd, because all the reports before the match were about how he was saying that the game was key to the confidence of both teams, and how the result could well be make-or-break for their season.

Now suddenly it's not important, and is just one less competition they have to worry about?

I appreciate that once you're out, you're out, and you have to forget it and move on... but it's amusing how he's changed his tune. He used to get pretty irate about such things. Maybe age has mellowed him... or maybe he's just getting used to losing to Arsenal! It happens often enough... ;-)

Yeah, but when you're manager of the best team in the land, you can afford not to watch the whole match! ;-p

Says in one of the papers today that Fergie likes games like todays, and that he's glad he didn't retire and have to watch it on TV at home.

Reckon he's changed his mind now? :-)

Fergie's being as graceful a loser as ever...

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson criticised Arsenal's players for hounding referee Jeff Winter during the Gunners' 2-0 FA Cup fifth round triumph at Old Trafford.

During a stormy opening spell tackles were flying in from both sides and players were protesting to Winter.

Asked what he thought about the bad tempered start to the game, Ferguson told Sky Sports News: "I didn't think the Arsenal players handled the referee well. They were surrounding him in numbers and it just creates havoc."

Sorry pal, but when you send your team out to kick chunks out of the opposition, you need to expect a reaction. After all, it's not like United players have never done exactly the same thing, is it?! :-) Amazing how short the old git's memory is getting!

No doubt he was expecting us to react by either falling out of our stride, or getting riled and sent off. Instead we did the sensible thing and replied only with superior football.

Who had the weakened team again? I heard Keane's name mentiioned maybe three times, the midfield was losing everything, and the only contribution RvN made was to trip over his long face and get a free kick from a weak referee.

I'm sure his elbow didn't make contact. He made a rash charge, turned, and sent the full force of his backside into Lauren. That's just a collision, surely not worthy of a card.

Though his first challenge was undoubtedly over zealous, and definitely did deserve the card.
