Australia are only ranked low becasue they never play in the world cup. Being in the crap footballing continent of Oceania, the group winner for qualifying has to go through a playoff against a nation from another continent. In the last 3 world cups they have been beaten in the playoffs by Uruguay, Iran (actually watched the 2nd leg game live...The aussies some how managed to let a 2-0 2nd half lead slip) and Argentina.

Fifa have given an automatic place to Oceania for 2006 though, so a 100/1 on them winning it looks quite tasty.

To a team much much better than Australia...

In all honesty, it should at least be 2-3. The disallowed goal in the first half was valid.

Well Rooney played a part on the goal, and he set up Vassell straight after coming on. The guy has confidence on the field but is really nervous in front of the press.

I left the pub after the first half.

All I can say after watching 45 minutes of dire football, at least scotland are losing as well.
