Do you think the government would be capable of setting up a 'terrorist attack' on the anti-war day?

Get the public on their side... maybe eh?

I wouldn't put it past them

I doubt very much the government would stage a terrorist attack. They're far too inept to keep that a secret, and they'd all end up in jail.

I wouldn't put it past them...it's the sort of thing you see in films but someone somewhere has probably laid out a plan of some sort

No, saw a program on that sept 11 theory, it didn't really seem too convincing...

However, taking your original cynical thought, SHEEPY, take a look at the hype and security levels at the moment.

You could suggest that low public support for the 'war on terror' has caused the government to go on a big scare-mongering exercise, under the veil of a current threat.
Or at least that if there is a threat the government are making the most of it to get people on side.

The implication of missle attacks won't harm Bush's Star Wars program either.

Then again, you could argue that there's been no overplay of the threat, and that the above argument just acknowledges the need to do something about it...

Oh, and maybe Saddam was a useful diversion when the hunt for Bin Laden wasn't going too well. So maybe Bin Laden is returning the favour when US are hving problems with Iraq?

to finish off last night's post....

On the subject of set-ups and America some guy wrote a book on how Sept 11's plane crash into the Pentagon was a set-up by the Americans. These are his basic main points;

1. Nobody saw a plane going down
2. No plane parts were recovered
3. There were only about 50 people in the section that was buggered. Only 50 people in a 5th of the Pentagon.Not very many was it?

Those are his basic points. I have to get hold of this book of his... My uncle alledgedly knows him... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Yes, but it's possible. I wouldn't put it past America to do something like that..
