Is it possible to buy a domain name without the middleman?
I don't have broad band just yet but I will in the near future, and in the meantime I want to buy a domain name and have it on my home computer. So how would I go about getting a domain for my home PC?
What internet access have you got as you will need some bandwidth for that if you want to be an internet server.

Yes, it is. I do this with euripides.sine-wave.net. I own sine-wave.net.

Turbo, not oneandone.co.uk is it ? (£4.44 inc vat for 2 years for a .co.uk last time I looked)
Is it possible to locate these dirt cheap domains to my very own home computer, Turbo? I thinking of turning my PC into a server you see. And can you give me a price example of a co.uk domain?

No, you need to be a registered thingy, but I know somewhere where you can get them dirt cheap. You've probably seen their banner ads around, but believe me, this place is FANTASTIC if you just want a domain. Not too hot on hosting though. Drop your E-mail address if you're interested.

I don't think so, Nicnames or whoever will tell you to buy through someone else. If you just want to buy a name cheaply without any hosting space let me know. There are some very cheap people out there.
