If i search on google for my site nothing comes up. but if i then click on websites which contain that phrase my site comes up!
Also my site is not on any of the 748000 sites for free funny videos which it is supposed to be.
Is it just because they havent properly signed me up yet?

As DMOZ is a human run directory it depends how many submissions that section has, and how often the editor checks it. I've submitted sites and the links are there the next day. If you submit to a busy section it will probably take a lot longer.

Once your site is in it, you'll show up on Google...
The only reason you have sites showing up as linking here is because you have written the link for example here and the chat pages are all stored Google...
The number that your site comes up in the list is based on relevance, I don't know how it works but I'm showing up as NO. 10 out of about 748,000 results for 'Free Funny Videos' on Google...
