I think this is a very strong squad.
What are your thoughts?
Manager Sven Goran Eriksson is waiting on the fitness of the trio, who missed their first training session for three months.
Midfielder Scholes sustained a groin problem in the Manchester derby while Lampard and Cole have ankle and groin injuries respectively.
Scholes and Cole have been regulars for Eriksson and Lampard was also expected to start against the Socceroos in the absence of Steven Gerrard and Nicky Butt.
And their absences would further weaken a squad already deprived of David Seaman, Emile Heskey, Jonathan Woodgate, Alan Smith and Wayne Bridge.
If Cole were forced to miss the match, which is live on Sky Sports, Charlton left back Paul Konchesky seems certain to win his first cap.
Indeed, while Eriksson was able to see Wayne Rooney for the first time in the flesh, he was only able to work with 16 of his 27-man squad, with seven uncapped players among the 13 outfield players training.
As well as the three players receiving treatment, a further eight squad members who were involved in games yesterday for Arsenal, Manchester United, Newcastle and Bayern Munich were also rested.

Fortunately, Robinson is having an excellent season. We're fine so long as he's fit.
As for the rest of the squad, it's mostly fairly solid, though I might be forgiven for not wanting any Liverpool players to make the first team.
