It will undoubtebly be the best console on earth when it is realesed in japan in july.
The games list is getting bigger and bigger due to more third party games developers joining the nintendo game list.
We will at last see the return of the Final Fantasy series to a nintendo console with the announcement that Final Fantasy 10 will be released on the gamecube.
Will gamecube be the best console for RPGs?
Yes of course it will with games like Final fantasy and zelda how can it be beaten.
It also has some of the best shhot em ups around aswell with perfect dark 2

What? Nintendo's already brought out a console that is a follow up to the Game Cube? Wow. So that must be what has beated it.

Yes it can be beaten and already has,sorry.

Just think of all of the brilliant games made by Nintendo, for Nintendo, Mario 64, Zelda 1 and 2, all of the other Mario games, Rogue Squadron and many, many more (including Pokemon). If Nintendo can do it once, they can do it again and again.

I totally agree. It doesn't reflect well on the UK as a gaming community that we are all suckered by advertising hype on such as regular basis. I mean just look how easily Sony manipulated us over the PS2 at xmas.It had a rather poor launch lineup considering what Sony promised and to combat this they just created a shortage so they could sell units. I really hope (as Miyamoto has already suggested) that Nintendo don't stoop so low. To be honest i don't see the machine as a Next Gen competitor. You see i don't think it needs to compete. It will just be there providing great games like the next gen Zeldas and various new games being brought out by the other thrid party developers. It will (hopefully) start a silent revolution in the games community. Playstation owners should have seen the N64 and thought 'i'd like a bit of that and i'm not gonna miss out this time'. If Nintendo can make people think that we could be looking at a return to the 'golden age of gaming' when Nintendo ruled the roost and games weren't shamelessly marketed despite being tosh of the highest order, they were just good games. This time it won't just be the gameplay that satisfies, the graphics will be able to match Nintendo's playability genius.

Its just rally in the Uk that Sony totaly dominates the market. The Japanese love Nintendo, the Americans know good games, and we just are stupid, on the basis of the PSX selling more than the obviously better N654. But Nintendo now have a UK office, ready for GameCube and GBA. With proper marketing, fantastic games, and more and more 3rd party developers moving towards Nintendo. PSX2 is good, I know, but face it. GameCube is faster, and MGS is possibly coming, out on it, with SSX, FF10 etc. Plus the insurpasable Nintendo orignals, which can't be beaten.
Just look at the PSX/N64. What on the PSX can beat Perfect Dark, Zelda, DK64 and others, for sheer graphics (not FMV) playability and SIZE. Be serious. GamCube will have all these, plus more. X-Box? Buy a PC and do your homework as well.

1. Sony owns the market? well Sony Market! yes, here in Australia, many were left on the shelves the first day. Too expensive and the games reminded me of the reason I loved the playstation 1. Well, ridge Racer in a word, but now that sucks. The gameplay is the same. Playstation 2 offers nothing new to gamers and I heard more than a few commenting on how good their PS1 was. Some said they were waiting for X box, I said I'll see about gamecube. Well frankly the machine, ever used it? unresponsive, even dreamcast looks better. Also it has 4 megabytes, wait 4 megabytes of video RAM.Effects are divided between the 2 video processors. Gamecube has 48 Mb and applies 8 effects to a texture. PS2 has a shorter lifespan than PS2. No doubt Gamecube is cheaper to manufacture too. Maybe you didn't see it has on chip cache for no lag at all. Maybe you saw the fabrication is copper, which is way faster than aluminium used in all other consoles. This machine is designed to eliminate bottlenecks to allow blazing speed. Pity we won't see it until mid 2002 lol.

Dreamcast is dead, Sony are facing down Microsoft. Reports indicate the Ps2 has a fast fill rate, but the X box's fill rate is slower. Waiting to get the perfect amount of games to compete is very wise. Remember the delays with perfect dark? Perfect product though.

The market has not moved on, Look at the macintosh and how many colours are selling well, Look at the gameboy and the colour campaign and how many sales that produced. I mean I'd rather choose the colour of my console thanks than have another faceless grey or black box to shove somewhere under my tv. Nintendo are focusing on Gamecube now because it is the future and nothing better than perfect dark appears possible on the N64. ?

In effect it'd be nice to have new nintendo 8 bit games and new nintendo 16 bit games. But it's easier to develop for the latest and the product is way better. Sony may have most of the market, but nintendo always have a market as long as they have quality. Besides just enjoy all the quality that's out there. As for Metal Gear Solid, never liked it, lacked the variety of Goldeneye. Besides any character named Solid Snake I just can't take seriously! Gt3 does look nice though for a driving sim! I don't like sims much anymore, they don't hold my attention by having and interesting storyline that isn't contrived. That's why I like cube!

The gamecube will be the best console blatantly its gonna be as popular as the snes if not more popular, trust me nintendo cant fail, think about it look at perfect dark what a brilliant game that was and it was on a cartridge the sound was great the game was massive, think what rare are gonna be able to do for Perfect Dark 2 with a DVD and CD quality sound my god trust me no one is gonna be ready for it. Its gonna blow the games industry away.

Indeed. I'm wonder when we'll get pokemon orange with red stripes! Must admit that the GBA looksd quite good and lets be honest no matter how gamecube does Nintendo will get money elsewhere but you must admit Pokemon is being totally over marketeted! One or two games are fine but its getting silly now! Still from the companies point of veiw whatever sells eh! GT3 - must admit not seen much of that. Problem with psx2 is the developers are having hell with programming it restricting the amount of good games that can be produced in certain time limits!
