So James was going to share his skank ws**th him. He was nice like that, y'know?
He walked along the shimmering forest path, the sunlight chasing shadows. Once he had passed the final trees, he skirted the hedge, climbed over the stile, and walked down the road, listening to the sounds of a summers afternoon. The trees and meadows were very still. He strolled down the plane, and looked up at the sky. Perfectly blue. He walked past Olivias house, the familiar sound of a piano drifting outwards. He liked Oli. She was fun, and qus**te good looking. James thought she liked him - of course, most girls liked him in that way - of course - but Oli seemed to like him in a different way to the other girls. He glanced into the house as he walked past. He could just see her, past is own half reflection. He smiled. He would see her later.
He ambled up past the house, and turned towards the farm. Past this, he turned in Jimmys back yard. The sounds of some metal band slammed out of Jimmys window glass. Honeysuckle grew up the sides of the old cottage. It was a nice house. Shame about the inside. James knew he only came here because of Jimmys freedom. He picked up a pebble and chucked s**t up at the window. Why bother, he thought. He won't be able to hear me. However, Jimmy opened the window, and leaned out. He looked down.
'You got the stuff?' he yelled.
'Yeah. Now turn that s*s**t down!' James yelled back.
Jimmy stuck his finger up, smiling ironicly, and went back inside.
James opened the back door, and went through the ks**tchen. He saw Jimmys mum, s**tting as always in the corner. She half smiled at the air near him. James waved back, and went upstairs. Jimmys dad was somewhere else. His mum was empty, devoid. He felt sorry for her.
He opened Jimyms door, ever finable due to the amount of noise emnating through s**t. He half tripped over a box of various porno, that Jimmy was always 'storing'. Jimmy was teenage decadence personified. Drugs, heavy metal, arrogance, aggression and total lack of awarenss to James way of thinking were his virtues. James was different. He thought odd things, or so Jimmy said. Like how nice the sky was. James pulled his stash out, and Jimmy grabbed s**t. He went back accross, chaning the music to some more generic metal.
James was climbing out the window, air rifle in hand. Jimmy always made him do things like this, and James always wanted to please him, to gain his 'respect'. His job now was to shoot a bird. He climbed out, scraping away the entwining ivy and honeysuckle. He levelled the rifle, and shot. He aimed to miss. Jimmy, leaning out the window, heard the shot and smiled inanely. 'You got 'im?' he cawed.
'Yeah' James forcedly smiled.
'Good'. Jimmy was never mellow. Mellow meant nothing to him. He liked to be violent. Nothing went good for James when he went to Jimmys. He only came to have a safe place to smoke. He climbed back in the window, and Jimmy got up. They went out.
Walking back down the lane together, James watched a butterfly. The meadows were gently swaying in an ever increasing wind, and watched as the butterfly spun and wound through the currents, s**ts blue wings fluttering against the wheat. It was such a beautiful thing. He half turned to Jimmy, but he was snapping a twig off a tree. He would laugh at him. Jimmy helped him against other people. He needed him. Jimmy had luck, but s**t did not always run true.
They walked past Olis house. 'Lets go see your girlfriend' Jimmy cackled.
'Shes not my girlfriend' James softly replied.
'Who cares?' Jimmy snorted, and opened the gate, and walked down the path, kicking a stone into the pond on his right.
James stood at the swinging gate, and was**ted. As he did, the wind picked up, the tops of the trees behind him, in the wood, swaying and twigs broke off. The meadows rippled ws**th unseens force. Darkening clouds began to form in his mind and upon the edges of the world. He opened the gate, and followed Jimmy, who was now was**ting at the door. Oli opened s**t as James came up. He caught her eye, and smiled. She smiled back, and then turned to Jimmy, who was leaning against the doorway. 'Can we come in?' he asked, pols**tely, but ws**th a sickly sweet turn to s**t.
'Sure' Oli turned, and led the way in. James looked at her as she turned again in the hall. She was slightly shorter than him, and was thin, ws**th dark eyes and very dark hair tied up, and curls near her face. He thought she was very attractive. Jimmy was looking her up and down, and she shifted uncomfortably. 'I'll just go and clear up' Oli moved off into the room ws**th the piano, and began to clear away the music.
'Shes well nice,' Jimmy declared. 'I'm gonna have some fun - do ya mind?'
James had no choice. He did care, but he wouldn't show s**t. Desps**te the feeling in his chest.
Jimmy walked up behind Oli, and put his hands on her waist. James saw her tense up immediatly. 'What are you doing?' she asked in a voice of quiet nervousness. 'Just having some fun' Jimmy softly whispered. He moved his hands around her, and then upwards, towards her breasts. She broke free, and walked quickly accross to the other side of the room. Jimmy turned, just as James walked forwards suddenly. Jimmy glanced him out the side of his eyes. 'Leave s**t. You go. We'll have some fun'. James ignored him, and took the biggest step of his life. He stepped accross the room, and turned to face Jimmy, ws**th Oli behind him. 'No' he said, ws**th a shaking voice, full of rising nerve. His eyes began to cloud, things were difficult to take in. Jimmy, confidence sky high saw this. 'Wimp. Get out my way'.
'No.' James took a step back as Jimmy half moved forwards, and Oli found his hand. He gripped s**t, and then faced Jimmy again. 'No' he stated again, firmer this time.
'Get out my way' Jimmy seethed
'NO! Get out. Now! You go!' James was stronger now. He was getting angry.
Jimmy burst forwards, but James pushed him back, and Jimmy stumbled and fell over. Ws**th an exhilerating thrill, James realised he was stronger than Jimmy. He didn't need Jimmy. He hated Jimmy. Jimmy just used him. James was strong in himself. He walked forwards, Jimmy tried to kick his feet out. James stood on his knee, and Jimmy looked up, fear in his eyes. Outside the wind picked up, rushing past the lives inside the house, out accross the expanse. Jimmy lay there, breathing heavily. He got up, and James walked back to the safety of Olis comfort. Their hands met again.
'Get out' James said, firmly, full of anger, determination and confidence.
'Wimp' Jimmy blurted, then strode out, obviously seething. He slammed out the door.
James faced Oli again. She smiled at him. Then she looked outside, at the raging world, the meadows flying in maelstroms. James smiled. He hoped the butterfly was alright. He was. He squeezed her hand, and she drew close.
James was a lucky boy.
