A quick topic here.

I'm kinda annoyed. For the past three days, I've walked down my busy road, trying to stay on my two feet. My mum has plodded along in her little Nissan, which can barely stay on the road. The snow, and later ice was covering the road, like glass ready to smash. Nearby, at school, the road has been gritted, but not much. A dab here and there, but still dangerous. I go to Spel-bound, the student showcase for Spelthorne Borough, last night, only to see that by the council offices, the whole road had been gritted, made safe and clear of any dangerous ice. This is a road which is used what, once or twice a day! Yes, it was a road only to be used by the mayor or councillers and parents of the student councillers (such as myself). This is a real píss take. My dad is certainly taking it one step further. We'll be writing a letter to the local paper. It's outragous, these councils are run by muppets, no? Actually, I think I'd prefer for them to be run by muppets, as the people in control now (David Whiltshire for me) has lost it!

Rant over. :c)

Oh, and in other news, a body was found under a bridge on the M3, just five minutes away from here. I personally reckon it's a nut who has run from St. Peters and has died. He was wearing his pj's too. Hmmm.

I have loads more stories about this ludicrous council. This is more to do with the Housing Association. We moved house last September (my birthday to be precise), and the house was spotless. The builders saw it, the removal men saw it, heck, we saw it (obviously). The garden was empty, we even mowed the lawn for them. Then, last week, we get a bill for £200! Yes, £200 for the rubbish which was removed from the back garden. What rubbish? It turns out that it was the neighbours (or at least, we know it was but can't prove it) rubbish. Still, we sent a letter back to the council confirming that we WOULDN'T be paying the fine. I guess we'll be seeing thwem in the small claims court (well, not me, but my parents will). I'm part of the Student Council, so I get to take all these complaints forward, but it's still not good enough.

Your council arent the only ones that are useless. My missus used to work for the council and she has some stories.

South Oxfordshire District Council spent a £100,000 grant on refurbishing the outdoor swimming pool at wallingford. They painted the pool base with a non waterproof paint, which came off in the rain before the water even got back into the pool, so they had to redo it, and with the change, they tiled the changing rooms and put in a mobile burger van.

They were being inspected by those council inspectors, and in the inspector's honour they hired a 100foot marquee, got in a band and caterers and treated all the staff to an afternoon of nosh and jazz. the day cost the council £80,000 odd, and the inspectors failed them for wasting money. No other council did anything.

And that's just my favourites.

Gritters only grit certain roads.
Not always based on how busy they are but on their use.
Hospital routes are always gritted, as are most bus routes if possible then main roads.
