When I try to open an image I've create in Paint, (yep, basic MSPaint) it tries to open it as a Smartdraw Photo image.

Only I deleted the program after a 30 day free trial.

How can I get my PC to default to Paint when openning image files, like it used to?

I'm running Windows 98.

Cheers for any help you can opffer me.

Open up any Windows Explorer window, like the C:\ drive, and goto 'View' and then 'Folder Options'.

Click the 'File Types' Tab, and from the list, try and locate the "bitmap image" pressing 'b' will get you there quicker. When found, select it and click the edit button.

When the window opens up, select the 'open' field and double click it.

In the "Application used to perform action" field,
type: ""C:\Program Files\Accessories\MSPAINT.EXE"

That sholud work.

Er, find an image and right-click on it whilst holding down the shift key.

Then, choose "Open With" and select Paint then click the checkbox which says something like "Always open this type of file with this program" then click enter.

I think that's the way anyway! :-)
