So...we can't afford to protect abused children from violent adults (according to the Victoria Climbie report), but we CAN afford to re-equip our army (and even then, only behind schedule) and we CAN afford to give money to private businesses in the name of ensuring that PFI's show enough of a profit for shareholders...
