When you are trying to ollie you should not have your back foot flat, but on your toe, this way it is easier to push downwards and move your foot quickly, not resulting in the unfortunate accident that befell Snuggly.
Don't be afraid to put some power on the downward push, if you don't the board will most likely not come off the ground and then just spin or move forward/backward.

Don't have your foot over the toe edge of the board.
Back leg on the tip of the tail in the middle.
