"If you want to survive an aircraft accident, even though they're very infrequent, every time you get on an aeroplane you want to sit down and then make a plan," she says. The programs on tonight, anyone going to watch it? Not sure if I should as I'm flying a week tomorrow :D
I like this quote I've taken from the page. As soon as you sit down, first make a plan of what you'll do when the plane crashes. Shove the old woman next to me out the way and make a run for the door :)
Well, I've sat down at my desk - my plan now is to get myself a cuppa!

"The planes going to crash and there's snakes on the plane!!"
heh :D
Seriously I would be so scared.
Regardless of how many times you've flown, always read the instructions provided and listen to what they say at the beginning of a flight.
Count how many rows you are from your nearest exist. In the dark or in smoke you will have to rely on touch alone.
Always make sure you know how to take off your own seat belt. It is not like a car seatbelt and many have died because they tried to press a button to release it.
Whenever you hear a loud bang or you've been told to sit in the crash position. Lean forward and protect your head. Such a position even in the last second could save your life.
Make sure you know where the lights are that lead you towards an exit.
If your plane crashes into water, never ever inflate your life jacket. Those that have done this despite being told not to, have drowned inside the plane because they couldnt swim out. Wait until you jump into the water.
If you're with a group or a family, make a plane of what you should do. Never try and find each other during a crisis, get out then try and find each other.
If there is smoke filling up in the cabin, you must get out as soon as possible, maybe people have died even in stationary planes because they didn't get off the plane quick enough.

The safest place to sit on a plane is .. well I guess there isn't one because anything could happen. I suppose the best you can do is pick one close to an exit and with a seat in front of you. Some people prefer to be over a plane wing as it offers more protection.
Seriously, the risks are very low, and I think I read somewhere that you're more likely to be struck by lightning or kicked to death by a donkey (Or as the case may be, several of them!) than die in a Plane Crash.
Don't panic is the most likely answer... if it's a minor sort of crash (ie not fast enough to kill everyone aboard by impact of the plane crashing), as when people panic, exiting becomes rather a crush, making it very hard to get out!
• how to survive the moment of impact
That would be completely out of your hands if the jet hits at 2-300 mph.
On average I was only 1 or 2 places out :-D
Some of them were very odd; things you really wouldn't expect.
