This was inspired by a conversation with someone just a few minutes ago, sorry on offence but my brain went dead and i cant remember who :)
TO SHEEPY>>> no this topic was not copyed, unless someone wrote about a similar subject before i was here in which it would not be my fault.
TO A MEMBER OF SR>>> does it matter when a topic is posted in a day to win gameaday, ie are they jusged the next day?
THE PAST
Not much on the past of the internet, it was all started by the military for sending infomation very quickly and at the time very securly, later on the 'world wide wait' as it is known today was born, not straight away but gradually, different companys started using it to connect different areas of the organization or employees who work at home, becuase it is very fast and can connect people over great distances, this kept growing and growing untill we get what we have today.
THE PRESENT
Today most people are on 'the net' it has a wide range of applications but is still extremly slow. Some of the uses of the internet are, shopping, infomation, chat/lesiure, gaming, and anything else you can think of (no dumb ideas please), and the net is still growing, lets take an example, online gaming, very slow people regualy get disconnected but dispite this a very many people play, the most popular are stratagy and 1st person shooters, they are popular because they are playing a real person and not just a bot which means smarter and more fun.
THE FUTURE
With broadband becoming more and more a reality this could be a golden age in online gaming, no more slowdowns, a lot less disconnects, and for the rest of the net it will make a big inpact, no more slow downloads no more waiting for web pages to load it would be instantanious, and think of all the new options that will become available downloading dvd quality movies in the time it takes to log on to the net at the moment, infact the future is so bright on the net its scary because we have to look at the consiqences ie net junkies people who cannot stop staying on the net constantly on IRC chat rooms or voice chat rooms. Friends, family, homes, jobs, lives, getting neglected, yes the future of the net looks to be a mixed blessing.
