Have you ever heard of Indrema...well apparantly they are the new kids on the block in the console wars...American Based, the company are set to release a console in the next two-three years. all I saw from the picture was a 4 controller port - cd type drive and a silver machine flat, like one of those dodgy Amstrad sky digital boxes that some people have.
Anyway, I can't wait to see what sort of games they are going to have and who they can sign to produce games....should be good to find out, look out for some new gaming mags...you might see it!
Remember 'Indrema' see if you can find a website I haven't looked yet but one should crop up soon enough.

Anyway, here are the details....
The console will be completely open- that is anyone can program on it. It's based on a Linus OS, and so should attract good developers (2200 have signed up already!).
Unlike the Ps2 this is meant to be a specialist console for hardcore gamers- a very few number of gamers who buy large amounts of games.
Anyway, it's gonna be realeased with about 30 games... new and old... in spring time in America.

You must have heard all this, I signed up on their mailing list ages ago. Just look at indrema.com , it's got pretty much what you need to know. Actually, they claim it's designed for everyone - I quote from their site - "The price of the L600 system is not yet disclosed, but it will be very affordable. We want everyone to be able to have one", but I'm more interested in the open source idea. While great in theory, encouraging more people to make games, the most popular ones will almost certainly be those produced by large teams who can spend ages tweaking their games and have seperate divisions for each aspect (doesnt work in practise of course, else we wouldn't get all the crap that comes out). I hope somebody proves me wrong, because I support open source development like that, but perhaps it could also work as a showcase for individuals to prove themselves, where other companies could talent-spot. More details anyone?
