This series is a must for anyone who is bored with the standard sci-fi fair offered by other shows. The characters and storylines are fresh and likeable from the offset. Farscape starts with a human who is testing out a new form of aircraft, the test goes wrong and the craft, and pilot, are hurled into a wormhole, only to appear in a distant and hostile galaxy far from home. It's a little bit Buck Rodgers and a little bit Star Trek, but on the whole it's something completely different.
The DVD box sets all contain 4-5 episodes on two DVDs. These are accompanied by screensavers, profiles of the characters and a behind the scenes look at the puppets and special effects (from Jim Henson's Creature Workshop) They are excellent value for money, and once you collect one, you will want them all, particularly as the spines make a lovely picture when put together!
