As some of you might know, I have a competition running in the Sport Forum.

I was thinking of creating a site for this, and don't have a clue how to build one.

If anyone could give me a few details of what to do, then I'd be happy.

Is there a site where you have to go to, and does it cost anything?

I find with Frontpage you can just copy scripts into the HTML bit and they show up...

I WILL learn to do things properly!

After my exams I'm going to have a jab at learning more HTML and PHP...

Try and make my site look slightly better...

Still though at the moment, it's all that I need, basic and crap!

I disagree. I find it quite interesting to write it myself. That way, you can try new things out and type anything to see what it does. USing a program puts great limits on you. If you write it yourself, you can write what you want, whereas a WYSIWYG program like FrontPage will only do something as far as it is compatible, and with new scripts becoming available all the time, it allows a lot more freedom, and you can try out the new scripts that have been released. The program like FrontPage wouldn't be compatible with the new script because it'd be too old.

If you're anything like me though...

You'll get bored out of your skull writing line after line after line of code...

I'm too lazy...

Microsoft LazyPage

Yay!

I agree with Miserableman.

Go to WebMonkey and take a few hours to learn the basics of HTML. Don't use any of the free "page builders" as all will end up with is a boring page and loads of unnecessary code.

Learn the code and use notepad to write it then you have complete control over the design. It's suprisingly easy once you get the hang of it....

www.webmonkey.com is my favourite resource for web design, although I don't do much web work :O(

I'd advise learning HTML properly, rather than using a tool to build it for you. It is extremely easy (though occasionally frustrating), and gives very satisfying results when you get something up that looks good.
