to the little voice inside
wailing at the oblivion
she is
so I move, restless,
looking for the invisible,
halting the inevitable
floating upon clouds of night
and then I sit
and answer to the happiness of you
to the destruction of me
last one up turn out the light
first one back light it for me,
for this, that last thing
happy, I say,
good for you, too, is the hideous lie
Then I lie. And think of you.
The quiet evils of aimless thoughts
gripping
me
and then I walk past, the lights broken,
and you, angry, happy, delighted, all at once
me toasting silently, to what never
was
