Is is good to be confused or should there be some improvement to the logging on procedure to prevent it?

Yes it is rather simple isn't it?
I think posting anything on this forum is a little too easy.
I think we should all have to pass a test before we are allowed to post anything at all!
Then again, I also believe that you should have to obtain a license before you are allowed to open your mouth in public!
You shouldn't be able to change to a name that's already in use, and maybe there could be a 'holding time' of 30 or 60 days, as er-no suggested. For example, say I change my name from "Wookiee Monster" to "Ewok Adventurer"... "Wookiee Monster" should then be unavailable to anyone else for (say) 30 days, but I can go back to it if I wish. If I don't switch back to it within the allotted time, it's made available for anyone else to use.
Another possibility is the method used in the Yahoo chat rooms, where you have one main identity, and upto 5 others, so that you can choose a name for each room/area. You can change these at will (except for the main identity), but not to an existing name.
It's a pain if you have to look up a password every time.
