Hello, I know that you have to pay someone (directly or indirectly) to host a web site and I understand about the Freeola 500 but I always thought you could buy a domain name outright rather than having to pay every month/year for someone to keep it registered as you seem to need to do with freeola. Is it possible to do this (even if not hosted by freeola) or do you always have to keep paying for your own domain name?
Thanks,
Pat

I have been with Freeola many years now and cant find a service to even come close to them in terms of hosting and customer support, they are first class.

Hi Hazy,
The advert reads "domain names from £2.99 per year".

Freeola charge £8.98 for a me.uk (not a co.uk) take off £3 if you buy more than one at a time, leaves £5.98, divide by two, gives £2.99(+VAT)!

The more domains you register the better the discount when you come to renew - I've got quite a few with Freeola. I have to say, I'm more than happy with their prices.

Advertising speak - don't you love it!

All domains need to be registered - see www.nominet.org.uk for more info.

Famously, a couple of years back Microsoft forgot to renew hotmail.co.uk and lots of UK hotmail accounts failed. A good samaritan renewed on behalf of MS to get things going again!
