That's right, the rush for the latest Zelda game has just begun!
Nintendo say 'Q2 2003', the majority of British gamers think May 3rd, and the less optomistic of us expect severe delays - but that wont stop the insults, punch-ups, and the spilt blood of people trying to make sure they've got a copy kept for them in atleast one of their local retailers.
But it isn't just the fact that The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for the GameCube is the first new three-dimensional Zelda title since Majora's Mask, a couple years ago, that is making people prematurely wet their pants in excitement. The promise of a GameCube version of Ocarina of Time, considered as the best Zelda game ever (by those who haven't played the Super Nintendo game I'm sure), plus the addition of 'Ura Zelda', a previously unreleased expansion pack that would have used the never released N64-DD in conjunction with the Nintendo 64 game, and many, many demos, all on one disc - for free! - is just about enough to make even the biggest of men cry in wait.
Let me stress that this isn't the only reason for tsunami warnings in shopping arcades throughout the country though!
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the past is still considered, by many, the best two-dimensional Zelda game to have ever been released. Others, including me, rate it as one of the best games ever! And to my joy, and the joy of many others, it is being released on the Game Boy Advance!
So pre-order those games now whilst you've got the chance! Hesitate and it'll be too late! These games, The Wind Waker especially, will be so hard to get hold of around its release that you'll be lucky to get a copy if you haven't preordered!
Don't say I didn't warn you...
You see, back in September (I think) I pre-ordered Mario Sunshine and Turok. Anyway, after waiting two weeks for my copy of Turok, I suddenly realised I may have acciedently cancelled my order. Not willing to take any chances, I went and bought Sunshine from a shop on release day.
Sur enough, I had cancelled that order. See, I used my dad's credit card to order them, and I gave him the money for two games at the same time. I already had Sunshine, and by then everyone was saying turok was crap, so I decided to pre-order Starfox and Zelda, as 'safeguards' to make sure I could get them straight away.
There we go, interesting no?
..
ho hum...
Yep, still there. I ordered Wind Waker back in September :)
