The "General Games Chat" forum, which includes Retro Game Reviews, has been archived and is now read-only. You cannot post here or create a new thread or review on this forum.
There are plenty of improvements that the whole games industry could make in this time of change. Magazines could stop doing good reviews for handouts, there could be less awful sequels (or the same amount of sequels but with something worth paying the extra money for, like new game engines and ideas) and Sega could start thinking about advertising their games for a change. Is this likely to happen? We can only wait and see, but I think the world would be a happier place for gamers if it did, and what better time to start than the beginning of a new year.
So we leave you now, with snow melting into rain, and all the people singing to the tune of Auld Lang syne,
"Should old game engines be forgot
and all lay down to die,
lets say a prayer for gaming fans
and hope the future's bright"
