Morientes said, "I would like to play in the Premiership at some point in my life, but now I feel I have to respect my Real Madrid contract, and will not be leaving for any club, anywhere.".
In the past few months, Morientes has turned down bids from Barcelona, Alaves, Torino and now Spurs, but with him having only played in one match so far this season for the Spanish giants, things may change, and he may well decide that he wants a move away from the club.
His agent said, "Fernando's contract runs out in 2006, but if he feels that he does not have a place at this club, then he may well be looking for a new team by the Summer."
Hmm.. he would be a good signing for a team like Spurs, if they could pick him up - Hoddle, keep your eyes open when we come to the Summer break.
:-)
"Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...I hate westerns"
It's not like they've got anything to lose! :)
I'm not surprised he's turned-the-down, either.
Would you want to be at a struggling Premiership side when you could be livin'-it-up in Spain?
Then again... With Ronaldo and Raul in the team, he don't get a look-in!
And all-players want to play in the Premiership!
But it is Spurs... So I can see why he said "No".
If they got Morientes, i think he'd flop at Tottenham.
