Hi, turned my Xbox on today and it doesn't seem to be booting properly. I get no video output and the DVD tray doesn't open.

Anybody got any ideas?

It depends how long you've had your Xbox. My Xbox has also developed a temperamental disc drive, the solution is simply to keep turning the console off and on until it comes out, instead of using the disc tray button use the power button and then the disc tray button (the reverse is true for shutting it down)

As for the signal input the most common cause tends to be that the scarts have slipped out of the socket slightly, just push the wires in and makes sure you're on the right channel.
