The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.
I got the first book last year (properly last year, not like 5 days ago) called Wizards First Rule. A little slow to get going but then it really, really picks up into a great story that keeps the suprises and suspence coming.
Now I've just finished the second one: Stone of Tears (I got it for X-Mas along with the 2 following)
i was quite suprised, but it far outshines the first. Everything seems to be so impossible - the odds of the good winning out against evil.
And, get this,
*Dum-dum-duuuum*
A tear came to my eye on a few occasions.
That's never happened before.
And this book has now become my favorite book ever. Ever. Screw LOTR, this kicks its hoity-toity bootang.
By the way, it's fantasy adventure - but read it even if you like anything else.
Sorry for the rushed topic, but I'm just full of that feeling you get when you finish a great book. And that was a really great book.
READ IT.
Fools.
And what's more, there another 5 books in the series for me to read!
Gotta get going.
So have you all,
I recomend it with my life,

Thank god i'm not the other one.
It goe son about all the gods and things at the start of the world, doesn't it?
Very confusing and I found it quite boring in the end.
Oh well. Enjoy the books you're gonna read. Trust me - Stone Of Tears is truely great.
Come on though, we're talking about a story of good vs evil with the fate of mankind resting on the winner, and the good sides best hope is hobbit and his companion ! Best.Story.Ever.

I really didn't want to say it, but it does.
