Here’s how Booker won the number one contendership:
* * * * * * * * * * * * * *
WAIT A MINUTE! HERE COMES ANGLE! Angle (Grandprix) gets into the ring, picks up Edge (Jetster), AND PLANTS EDGE WITH THE ANGLE SLAM! He then pulls Jeff up and into the ring from the outside by his hair, and as Jeff (Starlight) tries to get away, ANGLE PLANTS HIM TOO WITH THE ANGLE SLAM! Angle is going to steal this one! 1, 2, BUT HE'S PULLED OFF THE COUNT BY BOOKER! And wait a minute! Here comes Booker T (RM19)! WHAM! BOOKER JUST PLANTED ANGLE WITH ONE NASTY BOOT TO THE FACE! Booker T goes for the cover - 1, 2, 3! DING DING DING! BOOKER T WINS THE INTERCONINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP! Booker escapes out of the ring, grabs his title, and heads for the backstage area.

Lillian Garcia (Shaneo) puts the mic up to her mouth.
“The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and is for the Special Reserve Wrestling Intercontinental Championship.”
“CAN YOU DIG IT, SUCKAAAAA?” Booker struts out with the flames sweltering. “Making his way to the ring, the challenger…BOOKER T!”
“BANG!” DDP steps out and does the triangle thingy. The crowd chant his name. “And his opponent…the SRW Intercontinental Champion …DDP!”
The bell rings signalling the start of what looks to be an amazing bout. Booker T and DDP stare into each other’s eyes, man to man, nose to nose. Booker T turns to walk away, but suddenly delivers a right hand to DDP. Booker locks-up with DDP. He Irish Whips DDP into the ropes, and knocks him down with a stiff shoulder block. Booker T taunts the crowd, before going back to work on DDP. The Book delivers some hard kicks to the chest of DDP, only to have DDP grab his leg and turn it into some sort of Dragon Screw. Booker is temporarily disabled. DDP mounts the top rope. Booker T shoves the ref into the ropes, knocking DDP’s groin straight into the turnbuckle. Booker takes a breather, before pacing over to the turnbuckle where DDP is erect. Book pulls DDP off the ropes, and climbs up himself. FLYING SUPERKICK! CRASH! BOOKER T MISSED WITH THE FLYING SUPERKICK! Both men are down. Whoever gets up first will surely have an advantage. Booker is getting up, as is DDP. Book goes for some weak left and rights, only to see them blocked by Page. Diamond gets a burst of energy, and starts laying into the five-time WCW champion. Diamond shoves Booker into the ropes, and delivers a sweet clothesline when he bounces back. DDP drops an elbow on the neck of Booker T. The Book is clearly struggling here. DDP pulls up Booker T but straight away knocks him down with a middle kick. Again, DDP picks up Booker T and goes for a kick to the mid-section. But Book has caught Page’s leg, and knocks him down with a leg sweep. Both men are down, but slowly getting to their feet. Booker is up first, and starts exchanging punches with DDP. Booker T gets the upper hand, before delivering a sweet high leg tackle. Diamond is once again down as Booker heads for the apron. DDP is crawling towards the five-time WCW champion. Booker grabs DDP’s head, and jumps from the apron to the floor. DDP’s head comes flying off the ropes. Booker slides under the bottom rope and clotheslines the staggering Page. Booker T goes for the cover.

DDP kicked out after two and a half. He’s really losing energy early on. Booker stomps on the floored DDP before once again going for the pin.

Booker didn’t grad Diamond’s leg there, which cost him a possible pinfall. Booker is staring into the crowd, thinking of a possible Spinne…WHAM! An unsteady DDP flies his feet into the skull of Booker T! That low dropkick has knocked down Booker down. DDP slides over to Booker T, about to go for the cover. But he changes his mind, and glares at the crowd. He throws his arms in the air, ready for the Diamond Cutter. DDP turns around only to walk into it! BOOK END! BOOKER DELIVERS A POWERFUL BOOK END TO DDP! HE LOOKS AT HIS HAND! DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? SPINEEEEEERRROOOONIIIIII! Booker executes a perfect Spinerooni! He climbs on top of DDP.

NO! KURT ANGLE (Grandprix) HAS PULLED THE REF OUT OF THE RING! KURT clobbers the Referee with a stiff fist before climbing in the ring! Booker gets up and faces Angle! SMASH! ANGLE SLAM! ANGLE SLAM! Booker T has just been smashed into the mat by Kurt Angle and his Angle Slam. DDP turns around…WHAM! HE GETS AN ANGLE SLAM TOO! ANGLE HAS RIPPED THE ROOF OFF THIS ARENA! THE “YOU SUCK” CHANTS ARE ECHOING HERE AS THE FANS BOO THE OLYMPIC CHAMPION! Kurt scampers back up the rampway. The referee is slowly coming round. Booker T has given it all tonight; he’d be píssed should he lose his newly won title here tonight. DDP is up first, and is staggering around. Booker gets up after. The referee is pulling himself up using the turnbuckle as an aid. Booker turns around to face DDP. DIAMOND CUTTER! DDP HIT THE DIAMOND CUTTER OUT OF NOWHERE! Booker is flat on his back; he is seeing stars! DDP goes for the cover. The referee falls down to make the count.

2 AND THREE QUARTERS! BOOKER MANAGED TO GET HIS SHOULDER OFF THE MAT! HOW DID HE DO IT? Booker knows that all is at stake. DDP is protesting to the referee that it was a three count there! He can’t believe it! Booker is pumping up with energy! He’s fighting to get up, but eventually does! SLAP! SLAP! CHOP! CHOP! DDP is slapping the chest of Booker T! You can hear the noises loud and clear! He goes for another slap, but Booker cuts him off with a kick to the chest! DDP bends over (eurgh!) as Booker runs against the ropes, and nails a Scissor Kick! BOOKER HAS OVERCOME ALL THE OBSTACLES HE HAS BEEN UP AGAINST IN THIS MATCH! He crashes down on Diamond Dallas Page!
