Does anyone know why a certified driver might not show itself to be certified in DirectX setup? I have the latest nVidia 41.09_win9x driver, and it should be certified but directX setup is saying otherwise. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver 4 times through "add and remove programs", but it hasn't changed a thing. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the "standared VGA graphics driver" but that hasn't done anything either. Please help?

If a driver is certified that means Microsoft is promising you that it won't do anything nasty to your system. An uncertified driver hasn't been examined by Microsoft (yet), so they can't make that promise.

Microsoft charge to certify drivers, and some companies don't like to pay those charges. For instance Matrox, I'm lead to believe, don't have any of their drivers certified. They're still reliable, just not guaranteed by Microsoft.

I must have everything perfect so there are no excuses to why some of my games don't function properly. If it shows certified then I can go on to trouble shoot other things and see what is causing a few of my games not to startup.

Does this actually stop you from doing anything? Or are you just worried what Direct X might think of you?

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Brilliant service.
Love it, love it, love it!
