Okay, I have a website hosted on freeola

www.when-consoles-attack.co.uk

And I've just decided to stick comments boxes on many of the pages.

But is it acceptable to set up a different email address for each page, so I get to see which page the comment was sent from?

If I do that, I'll have dozens of email addresses, used only for this purpose...

Is there another away around it?

Actually, I could just add another box, and automatically stick the URL of the page it's sent from.

Maybe I'll try that too...

In that case, just use a hidden input field with the addres in.

Only works if a link is clicked though and is client-dependant.

If your using PHP, I believe the build-in Variable for knowing what page the Script was called from is:

$HTTP_REFERER;

Thank you.

I really didn't want to have to set up a new email address every time I added a page to my website!

Or

And I can't imagine Freeola objecting to loads of E-mail addresses. It doesn't cost them anything, and 12 more is really quite small if you consider how many accounts Freeola must have :D

Oh, and isn't valid HTML, you need to use either
or

That's for the title image at the top of the page, which I remember a while ago you asking why it wasn't in the middle??? or at least I think you asked that.... I forget.

You could set up an E-mail Address for every page if you wanted to, but I'm sure there is a much more suitable way.

When you say your using comment boxes, I take it your using a Web Script (PHP or CGI) to sent the Comment to you via E-mail???

If that is the case, you could just add a hidden input value

which could be put in as part of the Subject or the body of the E-mail you get, so the mail you would look something like this:

Comment From: this_page.html
Comment: blah blah blah

Or, the other way to do it is to use the Web Scripts built-in variable which knows which page it was called from, so it would have the same outcome to the E-mail as above, but would save you having to write a hidden input value for every page.
