I was round my mates this morning and he got a drumkit for Christmas

So I was given it smashy smash smash and I ruled, maybe I should have learnt drums.

I was good in music at school but gave it up even though I got invited to lessons but I got scared off because I couldn't read music and everyone else could.

Hitting things is much fun

I also played bass for the first time as he has a whole bass n drum thing going... bloody easy it was.

While we're on the subject, I love the drumming on the track Pure Rock Fury - Clutch.

I started to learn the drums at school, because we got free lessons taking GCSE music. It was crap though, and the teacher was always drunk and I hit with the sticks by acciedent.

Never botherd going back

That's what Moon did - he smashed up EVERY drum kit he ever owned...and even some kits that didn't even belong to him. Heh heh!
Good work on the guitar though - the only instrument i can play is the piano...

Anyway, if you're after a good read, try his biography. It really is insightful.

Read the Keith Moon autobiography - he had no experience of drumming whatsoever but he taught himself to be the greatest drummer the world has ever known - he used to make beats within beats all in-keeping with the song. The Who just wouldn't have been the same without "Moon the Loon."

Then again, he did practise like a crazy obsessed lunatic ALL DAY.
