I need a better one too, my one at the moment (BitComet) is rubbish. I get 30Kb/s best.
Alfonse I would suggest uTorrent, it's so good it runs on your desktop, you don't even need to install it :D. You can choose before you even start the download which files you want to download or not :)

I used bit torrent at uni with mates to transfer group coursework files. We'd create torrents with the latest files of our project and download them from each other when we were not in uni.
Bit Tornado was one we found that let you decide which files included in the torrent to download and which ones not to download, meant you didn't have to download files that didn't change from previous versions. Was quite useful. Should probably do what you need it to do.

I've used a few BT clients, and haven't known any that would allow that... sorry.
