Gonna watch BTTF 2 tonight.
BTTF2 - the most overplayed film in the Sci-Fi channel's history :P

I think I know what it's relating to - the guy has magnafied the problem slightly. The problem is only in literally two or three scenes and it sounds more like a clipping problem i.e. every film's negative is shot with a little extra at the top and bottom you're not supposed to see, but it covers a bad projectionist's back. This is why you often get the boom in shot - not because of the camera operator/director/boom operator messing up, but because the guy in the projection room hasn't lined the image and the screen up propperly. A couple of reputable souces explained the problem as their being too much in the top and bottom in two or three scenes i.e. the person doing the mastering for the DVD messed up and included the whole image in the problem scenes.

Universal Home Video has admitted that they mistakenly matted the Pan & Scan version of Back to the Future 2 & 3 to look widescreen. A corrected version is in the works and will be released sometime in February 2003. Customers are instructed to return the DVD Discs ONLY, keep the case, to Universal Home Video for a replacement copy!'
