"The new age for games?"

Is this truely the new millenium for gamers? The DC celebrates it second Xmas success following PS2 shortages, the PS2 has launched and thus opened up broadband gaming and began the convergence of consoles and DVD players, and we've still got the Gamecube and Xbox to look forwards to. Gamers have never had it so good! More competition means better games to attract customers, and that can't be a bad thing.

On a negative point, this war could see a great name like Sega go out. However, if Sega can keep up to the standards they have set, then they shouldn't have trouble.

I think Sega will survive. Like Nintendo, gaming is their industry unlike Sony who have diversified a lot. Sega has always had good support from developers due to the fact that their architecture for the DC is very developer friendly. Reports are that the DC is now pushed to its limits in terms of graphics and gameplay, so look to see Sega launch something new around 2003/4. That's my theory, right or wrong.
