Hi everyone!
I want you to know about this little story of mine. It is a true story, and a very pleasing one.
Firstly, I have owned a Dreamcast since the launch day.
Secondly I have now owned 4 Dreamcasts, but have sold two.
Thirdly, one of the 4 was part of the Dreamcast DVD bundle I got From Toys r us, as my mate wanted a DC and I wanted the rather impressiove Encore dv-450. It has been awarded 5/5 from many online review places!! This bundle was for £250 instead of £299!!
However, from Toys 'r' us they didn't tell me that the DVd player wasn't the Encore and so i was landed with an Alba DVD103. I was at first horrified as Alba isn't the best make in the world, but to my satisfaction the DVD player is a Multi region and was very good indeed and effectively cost me only £130 instead of the RRP £150.
However, I am selling this DVD player now as I decided to venture up to EB in Milton Keynes and get the Dreamcast and DVD official Deal and I did after about 30 minutes of confusing the staff assistants with promotional offers which they were unaware of - one being that when I by a Dreamcast and sign up with the card scheme my mate (me) will get a free game. So, I had to trade in 12 of my DC games plus £170 cash - Toy racer at a fiver was too irresistable to leave!!! So, as the watchful person that I am, I managed to make a profit of £7.31 on the trade ins as I never pay full price anyway!
So, I now have an Encore DV 450 which looks and is brilliant, two Dreamcasts and another Alba DVD103 MULTI region player. (If anyone is interested...)
But i am chuffed, because I got the last DVD and DReamcast in the store, as Dreamcasts have completely sold out - hoorah for Sega!!!
And there is short stock across the country.
Now Grix - have you got yours yet? I know that Ciao should have paid you and not me by now as my mates have been paid!
So this is good for Dreamcast, and I got a microphone and planet ring today, so more NEXT GEN online gaming awaits me this yule time :)

Relax, refresh and get ready for some serious hard core gaming in 2001. Phantasy Star lurks just round the corner, and the joys of Daytona Online await in the spring. PS2 owners will rejoice with MGS2 and I have no doubt that Bill's box of tricks will make some kind of impact on the games industry!!

I think people should be awarded stars for how much they contribute to the site...
Like how many posts you do, and when you make 100 posts, you get a star. And so on. To five stars.
That's it, nothing you win. Just five stars next to your name. It would make people want to come onto the site all the time.
(But make people like Er-No just repeat their posts again and again...)

Problem with that is the cost. On the site now, there is one game every day. In the long run there would need to be more than one game a day= more money needed. Ok, so it would improve the site, but would it get enough people reading the site to justify it? Probably not, but i may be wrong... we'll see

Ok, so say I write a review on say, ahem, er Quake 3 Arena, and then I think it should get a Gameaday award/prize etc.. but it doesn't, so I am perhaps a bit disheartened and feel annoyed. Right? Now, if I were to be awarded say 5 stars for the review, I could then use the stars to add up to the 100 stars needed to claim a game, or £40 worth of peripherals or something! I think this would be a good idea, I'll tell Tony.
Never would i do that, they would have to pay everyone who does a review!
The stars would mean you could know what your new topic or review rates against all the others and how you beat off everyone to win gameaday.

I don't think so, but you could be on to something. How about the reviews that you submit get a rating from the SR team out of 5 stars, and then when you have say collected 100 stars you are entitled to a free game of your choice?

I got paid £53.06. But it's not worth it anymore in my view as they don't pay enough. I think we should start charging SR for reviews, seeing as we are so talented and all. What do you think?
