Not as such, no. But they do provide a very basic hits counter, in the form of a PHP Script:

is there some sort of program you can buy then which doesnt show a counter but keeps track of your statistics?

You can modify that Script to just hide the counter stats as HTML Code, and so it doens't show on screen, so you can just view the source to see the hits
