Right people, the next thing that I want to sort out.

I can't stop chewing.

I don't know when It started, I think as a kid, but as exam presser and work pressure encombed me, it got worse.

I chew anything,

Pencils, pens, rubbers, pritt sticks, anything.

Its an addiction like biting your nails.

And none of it tastes nice. Especially when a pen looses its ink into my mouth, after a heavy day.

But its so out of control e.g.

Get a new pen from the stationary cupboard.

Chew the lid until it breaks into small pieces.

Chew the end of the pen until it cracks.

Chew the little cracked off bit.

Chew the ink thing, until ink comes out.

Any ideas?

You could always get some brute to dislocate your jaw. That should stop the problem. You'd have to eat and drink through a straw for a month or two, but hey.....

I found out from the chemist when I was about 8 - I use to bite my nails until my dad threatened to cut my fingers off. The gullibility of youth! It worked, i didn't need to use the solution - I had something stronger - THE FEAR!

Take up smoking? Buy some proper chewing tobacco that sailors use? Go to Thorntons and buy a pound of the hardest toffee available and then chew like you've never chewed before?

Oh, you wanted to try and stop.

But do you really want to stop? There's a solution that you can buy for your nails. When you've dipped them in the solution and are tempted to bite your nails, the taste is so horrendous that you'll be compelled never to try it again. Maybe you can dip some of the other things you chew into this solution?
