Okay,

Since Sony seem to be so keen on having their music artists on their games and Sega are now trying to add a bit of mainstream music to their games (samba de amigo with Ricky Martin, etc) what artists would you like to see contribute to game music?

We've had Underworld, the Prodigy, Manics, Spice girls (argh!) and many more, but since Nintendo are at last creating a games console with a disc based system, there is a chance to perhaps have metallica doing a track for a castlevania game or mario bopping along to Kylie (or maybe not, but you get the idea)

And no one suggest Barbie disco fever (featuring the tweenies and those ever popular Spice girls) either!

I'd like to see a bit more mood music by well known artists in games. Games focused at older audiences in particular would benefit from music; comedy games with the Bloodhound gang doing a special record for the game, Pearl Jam for a moody feel or Wutang Clan for a gang based affair perhaps.

Try Road Rash 3D or Destruction Derby if you like thrash metal, or Wipeout if you like transambient music. Fluke were the best ever soundtrack artists, but there's so much more that can be done. There's all the artists who work exclusively in the film industry (Morricone et al) whose skills could be easily transferred to the console market and make it a better market for all that.

There should be more heavy metal in games. Could imagine Marilyn Manson doing the sound track for Quake III !! Although there should be more tracks like in Tony Hawks and Crazy Taxi!!

With all the dance-dance games and all, why has no one done something like that for saturday night fever! Just for a fun arcade game, and maybe playable at home with the dance dance mat! Surely somebody would buy it!
