Heh, what a brilliant choice for the holders of Euro 2008. *Sighs*

Of course, I'm saying this because Scotland and Ireland came second overall in this draw, and I really feel that we should've got that joint bid.

It would've been better for you English as well, because then you wouldn't have as far to travel when you qualify for Euro 2008, and we wouldn't have had to qualify, which we always seem to have problems with. :-D

Nah, really, Switzerland and Austria was a bad choice, but I choice that didn't surprise me, as guess where FIFA are based? Geneva, Switzerland.

Ah well.

None of the big nations really put in a bid either, did they?

No France, Germany, Spain, Italy or the like, so Scotland and Ireland had a good chance.

Maybe next time it should be a joint Scottish and Welsh bid, given the FAI are a bunch of morons.

It's a poor choice, but perhaps it will benefit the Swiss and Austrians in terms of football.

The Americans couldn't kick a ball until they held a world cup, now "soccer" is massively popular.

And also, Switzerland and Austria really couldn't give a damn about football - they just want the attention, the tourists and the money.

They're not real football fans like us.

(According to the BBC.) :-D

Quite disapointing.
Still think Scotland should have went it alone, the lack or Irish support for the use of the big stadiums may well have been a deciding factor.
Also the first Minister not really showing as much support as the former first minister could have been a factor.

I really wanted it to come here, not just for the football but for people to see a good side to Scotland and also the financial benefits could have improved a lot.

Its a shame.
