Just finished writing another song.

Started doing it a few weeks ago, like some people post their poetry here, only i don't really consider it poetry - not.. arty enough, and in my head it always fits to a beat that's close enough to music. That or the tune ripped from a propper song.

Don't plan on posting them mind. Partly because they're probably not up to much, partly because about half of them are unfinished - i lose the emotion before i get to the end a lot, and don't really want to go back to them unless i recapture it. Which hasn't happened yet. Probably not least because they're all in a big messy pile of paper.

Best. Therapy. Ever.

I read an article in mens health (think it's still the one currently out) on stress, claiming that stress is in fact a synonym for fear - which seems to make sense, if you're stressed about something it usually seems to boil down to being afraid of everything going badly and the ensuing consequences.
It also pointed out ways of dealing with it - analyse the cause of the stress to better understand the problem, and do what humans are programmed to do when afraid (like the kid in the thunderstorm running to its parents), seek support from someone.
As i see it, writing the songs, even though nobody ever sees them, kind of serves both purposes.

I think sometimes the threads in these forums serve the same purpose.

And sometimes it's something to do when you can't sllep and you've burned out song-writing emotion :^)

Anyway, to give the thread a real purpose:
Song/poetry writing rules. Discuss.
