There, I've said it. I know a lot of you were out there going "I wonder if Monkey_man is interested in politics, please say he is", but I'm not. Sorry. There's nothing in politics to interest me at all. As far as I can see, it's a bunch of middle-aged/elderly men arguing over how the country should be run - instead of doing anything about it! I was eligibe to vote at the last election, but abstained due to there not being a worthy cause to cast my vote against. At the end of the day they're all as bad as each other - making promises that can't be kept and getting involved in feeble scandals. They should just get together and listen to what the people have to say.

I'd make it compulsory to vote or to be undemocratic and make people pass some sort of test to vote...

True story:

A candidate in local area complained that another candidate had an advantage because he put his name in bold, capital letters.

I'm sorry but if you're f.cking stupid enough to vote for somebody because they have a bold font then you don't deserve to vote.

I can't stand people who don't use their vote

If everyone had the attitude 'that nobody was worth voting for' then for example extreme parties as the BNP would gain more seats due to their support base being the only one turn up.

And again if you have no interest how do you know nobody is worth voting for?

Etc

And this is the reason why you should show some interest in politics, or at least vote.

Who are "the people" ?, because the UK public sure as hell does not have one opinion, so doing it this way would be disastrous. Widespread disinterest and voter apathy is what is allowing idiots like the BNP to get people into local governments, something which must be stopped before it gets too far.

Agreed.

The only reason I support the Tories is because Blair said before he was elected we'd have one and a half hour's homework a night. :D

I think those scenes where they all argue like petty children in The Houses Of Parliament are classic.
