Trillian actually has irc on it.

IRC IS the best so ignore the guy below. You can connect to multiple networks and have the chance to talk to literally thousands of people. Trillian is a good multi messaging program if you have Yahoo and MSN etc. it also has IRC inbuilt.

irc yuck!

you can get a few programs that link ICQ, MSN, AOL and yahoo in one messenger so that's probably best.

leave IRC alone looks so so dated.
