While it was novel to get many games over a few weeks instead of the other way round, aside from Zelda and arguably TWINE (despite it's own controversy), what was really worth the excitement?
Well, maybe Conker's BFD and Kirby 64 would have been.
The rest? The big names, Mario Tennis (short lived to say the least. It's just not fun winning the star cup again, just this time doing it with a large slow ape) and ISS 2000 (what can you expect? A good football game, but it arrived a little too soon and has all been done before anyway). Aside from that, nothing really spectacular happened in the build up to christmas.
In the new year? Paper Mario. Does anyone else feel like a cow on milking day here?
Pokemon Puzzle League. Do I really have to copy out the same comment again?
Aidyn Chronicles. Well, along with Zelda and Conker's, it has the rpg puzzle thing box overflowing.
So what's really worth buying? Zelda now. Maybe TWINE if you ever get to get hold of a copy, that is if goldeneye and PD aren't enough, and you need yet another 1st person shooter. Conker's and Kirby have the potential. But WHEN?
The master system, as I recall, was still going from strength to strength in terms of releases years after the mega drive hit the store shelves, but it seems that Conker and Kirby are all that are preventing the N64 from being void of new releases almost a full year before the next step debuts.
Oh, and on the subject of the mega drive, have you noticed how the machine gets as much space in the index catalogue as the N64 does?
I think that says it all really.
With the 3's also at home it's a good job the 1st xv home game against Aspull has gone from the list otherwise it would have been cosy at H/R from 5 p.m.
If that's not really your thing, then how about Exitebike?
No?
Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine?
Battle For Naboo?
Banjo Tooie?
If you can honestly say that not one of these forthcoming titles would interest you in the slightest, maybe you should be looking for another console. The Dreamcast has plenty of great games.
Personally, I shall continue to support the N64, I might even buy one!
