I can only think of one game that attempts to let you live the life of a rockstar (can’t remember what it’s called, probably something like ‘rockstar’), and it fell very very short of the mark. I have wanted a game for many years where you get to be in a rock band and living it up like rockers do. Anyway I think there is a massive gap in the market for a game like this and would like to see one, as I think many of you would as well.

I’m very particular with games. I like games which I can make personal be unique, so customising things is my cup of tea. Imagine a game where you start off forming a band, getting to choose your name, imagine and of course genre of music. I don’t think the composing of songs could be an option as let’s face it how are going to compose track after track (if anyone has been in a recording studio they will know how long this takes). Anyway, you could name songs and start gigging at small venues to get some revenue. Would be cool if you could see little people rocking around on stage to a packed house, with an ickle mosh pit. After getting money in and getting noticed you could sign a record deal with a minor record label. After gigging at bigger venues money would keep coming in. The band keeps getting bigger gigs, playing in front of sell out crowds, cutting LP’s, signing to bigger record labels, playing at festivals, drinking, smoking, having sex with random people while being very high. Ok this may be going a bit far but as I said I like realism.

Within the game it could be cool if you could customise everything. Choosing what type of clothes your band members wear to actually choosing your band members from a substantial list of people all with different talents. Creating your own guitar designs and drum colours would be excellent, making a band that is unique to you. Imagine teaming up with other people’s bands on the Internet and watching a massive festival unfold in from of your eyes. Ozzfest or Reading festival on your computer! Being able to control individual people in the crowd would be funny as well because you could start fights and riots and things, general gig stuff really. The game could go on and on until your band members die, of course they could die in a number of ways, from an over dose to being hit by a bottle on stage (would have to be a 15 certificate for obvious reasons). Sorry, that was a bit harsh.

Anyway this is my idea of an excellent game, probably not many people agree but just imagine it. The possibilities are endless, but its never going to be made, just an unfulfilled dream of mine. Ah well keep rocking and it could happen… m/
