They've already spent £3000 on christmas presents this year. Even if they just spent half of that on the kids that's still £150 each. :S When I was a kid I would get a hoop and a stick and that would have to last me untill my birthday.

Strangely enough i was talking to someone about this the other day. Now this guy had 5 kids and was looking for work, he wanted to work but he didnt really have any valuable skills and so was stuck looking for pretty low-paying manual stuff. The problem he came up against time after time was that he was financially better off accepting benefits than taking a low paying job. I dont blame him at all. All parents want to provide the best they can for their children and are you really going to swap being at home and well paid for not being around and not being able to give your kids what you need to.
I think they should supply the next benefit payment as a voucher for a vasectomy, rather than another benefit payment increase.
