I think shooting games will hit it off best, especially if they combined VR with lazer tag and had them all running around this empty building. So when you move around you're actually moving, when you enter a room, you're actually entering a room. It would be so realistic I doubt many will be able to handle it. Especially with games like Aliens where they leap out in front of you and the first thing that comes to mind is to leg it as fast as possible in the other direction.
Whatever turns up I think everyone will be glad to have a break from looking at a small 2D screen.

I reckon peripherals will be the first to benefit from VR technology, we already have the IntelliMouse from Microsoft which is a kind of VR spinoff, but the 'DataGlove' idea (point your finger where you want the cursor to go and don't pick your nose whilst playing Quake) is going to be the next big thing.
