FC Basel 1-0 Manchester United.

31 seconds in and the United defence are caught out. First a brilliant header from an unmarked man was cleared off the line, and the rebound went in. Anyhoo, I guess it's cos 6 full team players are out. I'll post my other thoughts here later, so watch this space. Remember to laugh too. :c)

There are quality squads in each group. Here's my order from best to last in groups (best teams overall):

1. Juventus, Deportivo La Courna, Manchester United and FC Basle.
2. Inter Milan, Barcelona, Newcastle United and Bayer Leverkusen.
3. AS Roma, Valencia, Arsenal and Ajax.
4. AC Milan, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Lokomotiv Moscow.

---

To be honest though, no group is really the best, as there are 3 quality sides in each group. The exceptions are:
FC Basle - (knocked out some good sides like Liverpool and Celtic - held Valencia to a draw - but can't compete in this phase)
Bayer Leverkusen (be thankful, Geordies) - (just not good enough any more - had a really easy 1st phase group to get through - near relegation zone in German league)
Ajax - (the only Dutch team still left, and in my opinion, they are like Basle - they can't compete with this new and tough competition)
Lokomotiv Moscow - (probably the worst team left in the Champions League - but I'd put money on them getting a shock win against one of the teams in their group - most probably Borussia Dortmund)

That's my opinion on the Champions League still anyway.
