"Cheat Cartridge. Incompatibility???"

I went into my local EB today, and they told me that a PS One Cheat Cartridge will not work on my PS2. I was wondering then, because when the Action Replay 2 Comes out in January (For PS2 Games) will it also work for PS1 games that I have, or am I literally stuffed here???

Just in case any of you wanted to know, the Action Replay 2 (When it comes out) will Retail for £29.99 in January. I got that from an Advert in the Official Playstation Magazine. I heard it will come out in January from Game, the Magazine had it, but not in stock! I don't want it for my PS2 Games, just the PS One games, but I am sure there will be a need for Cheats, as some games play better WITH Cheats than WITHOUT them. Of course, there is the odd occasion when you put cheats on by pure laziness! Anyone want the Action Replay 2???

Well my PS1 Action Replay software (needed to execute your hacks) certainly doesn't work on my PS2 (and I've got the latest version of the AR).

It just locks my machine. Probably best wait for the AR2.
