Totally agree - as much as Mr Wenger moans and blasts the referee - it was a penalty. If it was commited outside the pen area, it would have counted as a foul - but not a yellow card. However as the foul was in the pen area - we know Sol was going for the ball, but he didnt get it and fouled a player who would have been 1 on 1 with the keeper and would have probabaly scored from about 10 yards out, If he hadnt been brought down. Being the last defender the ref had no other choice but to award a penalty and send Sol off.

It's the fact that although he didn't mean to do anything, he fouled the player and prevented him from attempting a VERY good chance at goal...

That's a red card offence...

I think that it was a penalty, but not a sending off offence, even though Sol was the last man. I thought that Sol went after the ball.

But, as the rules say that if the last man commits a foul, then he will be punished with a red card.

Que?

Three wins - 1-0 Fulham, who just beat Liverpool; 1-0 "thrashing" of Newcastle, where we played outstanding football and only failed to score more because of an outstanding performance by their keeper, and a 3-0 drubbing of Spurs. Mediocre? Not!

Highlight of the day was seeing R Sol getting sent off!

Yes it was a sending off Wookie before you start crying!

:c)

He pushed the player and he missed his tackle, it's a stright red, simple as that!
